Our Pastor
Joe Craft is an ordained minister who has been in ministry for over 20 years. He has been a worship and connections pastor for the last 6 1/2 years and a worship leader for 15 years prior. He has a love for families with a large family of his own. Joe is married to Gen, his wife of 32 plus years, and has 5 children and 2 grandchildren. He has a deep love for music and passion for worship and is a part of the contemporary worship portion of the service at Blackhawk Community Church.

Statement of Faith
We believe in the one true, infinite, eternal almighty God and that God exists in the trinity: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is God’s holy definitive inspired word. We believe that Jesus is the son of God sent to earth to redeem us from our sins. We believe in baptism to demonstrate outwardly our repentance of our sins and a desire to follow Jesus.
Our History
Blackhawk Community Church has a rich history dating back to 1858 as Pleasant Grove. It began as a small log cabin church to serve the needs of the community. The current name actually originated from the time when the first structure was being erected. Story has it that a couple of boys walked by and saw a black hawk perched atop of the building and jokingly said it should be called Blackhawk Church instead. In May of 1917, the original log church was damaged by a tornado and rebuilt as a wooden frame structure. This was used until 1940 when the frame building was destroyed by fire and replaced by brick.
